MACC urged to explain cargo discrepancy investigation after three months

Malaysia’s Anti-Corruption Commission is being urged to explain the status of an investigation into alleged discrepancies in cargo documents after more than three months have passed.

The report was filed on June 5, according to maritime industry expert Datuk Seri R. Jeyenderan. He said the complaint concerned alleged inconsistencies between bills of lading and other cargo information.

Jeyenderan said he had received only automated notifications by SMS and email stating that the case remained under action. He is now calling on the commission to provide a written progress update.
