Macron: Renewed G7 commitment to increase pressure on Russia

French President Emmanuel Macron declared that the G7 has reaffirmed its dedication to intensifying pressure on Russia. Speaking at the conclusion of the three-day summit of leaders from the Group of Seven industrialized nations in Evian-les-Bains, Macron highlighted the critical importance of this renewed commitment.

Macron characterized the G7 summit as marking a "very profound change" regarding the issue of Ukraine. He affirmed that the entire G7 bloc has recognized "the territorial integrity of Ukraine." Furthermore, the leaders acknowledged that Russia does not exhibit a serious willingness to end the conflict.

The G7 leaders also pledged to bolster sanctions against Russia and enhance Ukraine's air and long-range capabilities. Discussions at the summit covered the Middle East, the war in Ukraine, global economic stability, climate change, and security crises. U.S. President Donald Trump, who attended the summit, was scheduled to travel to Paris for a dinner hosted by Macron at the Palace of Versailles.
