Magadan-Pucinelli and Casanova-Osorio to play Challenger of Quito quarterfinals

The Challenger of Quito tennis tournament is heating up as the quarterfinals are set to feature compelling matchups. Argentinian Hernán Casanova is slated to face Colombian Juan Osorio, while Mexican Alan Magadan will compete against Brazilian Matheus Pucinelli de Almeida.

These quarterfinal clashes are crucial for the players vying for the 50 Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) points awarded to the tournament's winner. The matches are being held on the clay courts of the Rancho San Francisco club in Ecuador's capital.

In the round of 16, Casanova defeated Mexico's Luis Carlos Álvarez with a score of 7-5, 6-2. Pucinelli de Almeida advanced by beating Chile's Daniel Núñez 6-2, 6-0. Osorio secured his spot in the quarterfinals by overcoming Chile's Matías Soto, the tournament's second seed, in a three-set match: 4-6, 6-3, 6-2.

Meanwhile, Magadan eliminated Peru's Juan Pablo Varillas, the third seed, with a decisive 6-1, 6-4 victory. The quarterfinal pairings are now set: Magadán will play Pucinelli de Almeida, and Casanova will face Osorio.
