Major flood in Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa; residents urged to stay alert in surrounding areas

A major flood has inundated the Bhotekoshi River in Nepal's Rasuwa district, prompting authorities to issue alerts for residents in surrounding areas. The sudden surge of water was reported on Wednesday morning around 9:15 AM.

Narendra Pariyar, Chief District Officer of Rasuwa, confirmed receiving information about the significant flood originating from the Tibet side. "It is not possible to say right now exactly how much damage has occurred. Efforts are underway to assess the situation," Pariyar stated, indicating that the full extent of the impact is still under evaluation.

Due to the Bhotekoshi River's flooding, vigilance has been requested from communities residing along its banks. This advisory extends across multiple districts, including Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, Gorkha, and Chitwan, through which the river flows. The alert aims to ensure residents are prepared for potential consequences of the rising water levels.
