Major task ahead for MGM

Mahatma Gandhi Memorial School (MGM) is preparing for a challenging rematch against Lomary Secondary School in the Weetbix Raluve Championship Under-18 final. The two teams previously met in the southern zone final, where Lomary secured a decisive 18-0 victory over MGM.

MGM coach Antonio Raboiliku acknowledged Lomary's strength, recognizing them as one of the season's top teams. He anticipates a "fierce battle" on Saturday, stating, "They thrashed us the last time we played them so we know our final this weekend will be a very tough game."

Despite the daunting previous result, Raboiliku expressed confidence in his team's preparation. "However the girls have been putting in the work here in training, and they are excited to step onto the field," he said. The team has focused on fundamental skills, particularly ball handling, in the days leading up to the final.

The Vodafone Deans Trophy and Raluve Championship finals are scheduled to take place at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva. Live coverage will be available on FBC Sports, with international viewers able to watch via VITI+ for a fee of 75 FJD.
