Makkah deputy emir receives newly appointed Jeddah mayor

Makkah Deputy Emir Prince Saud bin Mishaal received Ehsan Bafaqeeh, the newly appointed Mayor of Jeddah, at the governorate headquarters. Prince Saud congratulated Bafaqeeh on his royal appointment and wished him success in his new role serving the city and fulfilling the leadership's aspirations.

During their discussion, the two leaders reviewed key municipal issues and outlined future plans for Jeddah's development. Bafaqeeh conveyed his deep gratitude to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman for the trust placed in him, describing the appointment as both an honor and a significant responsibility.

Bafaqeeh stated his intention to build upon the accomplishments of previous mayors and collaborate with municipal staff to enhance city services and development. He emphasized the need for dedication in the coming phase to meet the expectations of the leadership and the people of Jeddah. He also acknowledged the support from Makkah Emir Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, Deputy Emir Prince Saud bin Mishaal, and Jeddah Governor Prince Saud bin Abdullah bin Jalawi.

An economist and investment banker born in Jeddah in 1973, Bafaqeeh brings extensive experience from both public and private sectors. His prior roles include governor of the General Authority for State Properties and leadership positions at Mohammed Alsubeaei (MASIC) Logistics Services and the Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones (MODON). He has also served on various boards and investment committees.
