Malaysia's EP Manufacturing posts highest quarterly revenue since 2016

EP Manufacturing Berhad (EPMB), a prominent Malaysian automotive solutions provider, has announced its strongest quarterly financial performance since 2016. The company reported a revenue of RM212.68 million for the second quarter of 2026, marking a significant 67% increase from RM127.70 million in the same period last year. This surge in revenue is largely attributed to EPMB's successful automotive localization partnerships with Chinese car manufacturers.

We expect further growth as new models begin production and export activities continue to be enhanced across ASEAN and other international markets.

The company's profitability also saw a dramatic improvement, with net profit soaring by almost 19 times to RM5.15 million, compared to RM0.28 million in the previous year. EPMB Executive Chairman Hamidon Abdullah attributed this robust performance to the company's solid operational execution and ongoing progress in strategic growth initiatives. He noted that EPMB's collaborations with GWM, SAIC-MG, and XPENG have resulted in the production of over 1,000 vehicles per month during the second quarter.

Looking ahead, EPMB expects continued growth as new vehicle models enter the production phase and export activities expand across ASEAN and other international markets. The company has also secured new component programs for upcoming Proton and Perodua models, which are anticipated to be significant drivers of future positive growth. "We will continue to strive towards realizing our vision of developing a one-stop automotive manufacturing hub capable of meeting the needs of global automotive brands and supporting Malaysia's aspiration to become a leading regional hub for automotive production and export," Abdullah stated.

Further bolstering its manufacturing capabilities, EPMB commenced construction of a new vehicle painting facility in Pegoh, Melaka, in June. This expansion, incorporating advanced painting technology, one of the most technologically sophisticated processes in car manufacturing, is expected to accelerate EPMB's transformation into a vertically integrated automotive manufacturing partner for global automotive companies. The company aims to solidify its position as a key player in Malaysia's automotive sector and contribute to the nation's goal of becoming a regional automotive powerhouse.
