Malaysia's Halal Industry Attracts International Collaboration Interest

Malaysia's halal industry is garnering significant international attention, with multiple countries expressing a desire to collaborate. Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced that nations such as Vietnam, China, South Africa, Brazil, Peru, and Ethiopia are keen to partner with Malaysia.

Anwar made these remarks while officiating the Penang International Halal Expo (PIHEX) and the Penang Bumiputera Entrepreneurs Gathering at Politeknik Seberang Perai.

During the event, Anwar also announced an initial allocation of RM5 million to bolster Bumiputera participation in the national semiconductor industry. He expressed hope that this funding would increase the involvement of Bumiputera individuals in the high-tech sector's supply chain, describing it as a "starting point" for developing strategic collaborations involving the government, higher education institutions, and industry players.
