Man Arrested for Attempted Child Kidnapping in La Florida, Chile

A man was arrested in La Florida, Chile, after attempting to kidnap a 6-year-old girl. The incident occurred on Avenida La Florida with Departamental, where the suspect approached a mother walking with her two young children. He attempted to forcibly take one of the children.

When the mother resisted the abduction attempt, the man physically assaulted her, inflicting injuries to her face. Fortunately, municipal officers on patrol in the area witnessed the assault and intervened. They detained the suspect until Carabineros, the national police force, arrived and took him into custody.

The victim and her children were transported to a medical facility to have their injuries assessed. The municipality has activated its support services, the Defensoría de la Gente, to provide psychological and legal assistance to the affected mother. The swift apprehension of the suspect and the subsequent support offered aim to address the trauma experienced by the family.
