Motorcyclist dies after collision with car in Barrio Brasil

A fatal traffic accident occurred early Monday morning at the intersection of San Pablo and Brasil in the Santiago commune, resulting in the death of a young motorcyclist. The collision involved a motorcycle and a private Chevrolet Corsa.

The impact was severe enough to eject the motorcyclist, described as a young man approximately 24 years old, from his vehicle. He tragically died at the scene before any medical assistance could be rendered.

The Traffic Accident Investigation Section (SIAT) of Carabineros has taken charge of the investigation. Initial findings indicate that both drivers possessed up-to-date documentation, and preliminary tests ruled out the presence of alcohol in their systems.

The driver of the car has been detained as the investigation proceeds. Authorities are working to determine the exact cause of the crash, focusing on whether one of the vehicles failed to obey a red traffic signal.
