Man arrested in Queensland after shot fired at vehicle

A 19-year-old man is in custody after an incident on the Landsborough Highway in Kynuna, Queensland, where a shot was allegedly fired at a passing vehicle. Police responded to reports of the incident around 7:50 p.m. on Tuesday.

Before officers arrived, a motorist discovered a stationary Toyota Hilux in the middle of the highway, along with a firearm. The motorist collected the weapon and delivered it to attending police. Officers then located the 19-year-old man near the vehicle and took him into custody. He is currently assisting police with their inquiries.

Fortunately, no one sustained physical injuries during the event. Kynuna is a small town located approximately 300 kilometers south of Mount Isa, with a population of just over 50 residents. Police are appealing to the public for any relevant information or dash cam footage that could aid their investigation.
