Man assisting accident victims killed by another car

A 39-year-old factory operator tragically lost his life in Arau, Malaysia, while attempting to help victims of an earlier car crash. The incident unfolded on the Jalan Kuala Perlis-Changloon road near Sungai Chempa.

Authorities received a report of the initial accident around 7:25 a.m. involving a Honda City and a Perodua Axia. The driver of the Honda City, a 36-year-old, reportedly lost control after hitting a puddle, causing the vehicle to swerve and crash into a tree.

Following this initial collision, the factory operator arrived at the scene to offer assistance. However, tragedy struck again when a Perodua Axia, traveling in the same direction, also lost control and veered off the left side of the road. The Axia then collided with both the Honda City driver and the assisting factory operator.

The factory operator was thrown into a roadside ditch and pronounced dead at the scene. The 35-year-old driver of the Perodua Axia sustained broken ribs, while the Honda City driver suffered a broken leg and ribs. Both injured drivers were taken to Tuanku Fauziah Hospital for treatment. The deceased's body was sent for an autopsy. Police are continuing their investigation into the fatal incident under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
