Four Homicides, Including Teenagers, Reported in Panama and Colón

Four individuals lost their lives in separate violent incidents across Panama and Colón provinces within a 24-hour period, with two of the victims being teenagers aged 13 and 18. The wave of violence has prompted calls for increased security from concerned residents.

The first incident occurred in Cerro Batea, San Miguelito, where a man was fatally shot outside a rotisserie. Preliminary reports suggest assailants on a motorcycle carried out the attack. Shortly after, a 13-year-old boy was shot and killed in the Santa Librada sector, also in San Miguelito, by individuals on a motorcycle. In Panama Norte's Chilibre district, an 18-year-old died amidst a shootout in Villa Unida, succumbing to his injuries after being transported to a local clinic.

The fourth homicide took place in Pilón Centro, Colón province. Residents reported hearing multiple gunshots the previous night, later discovering a man dead on the ground. Authorities have launched investigations into all four cases, seeking to determine the circumstances and apprehend those responsible.

These recent killings have intensified concerns about public safety, particularly in communities like San Miguelito, which has seen a rise in homicides linked to organized crime. The incidents underscore a growing problem with hitmen and gang-related violence, prompting residents to demand more effective security measures from local authorities.
