Man City lands in South Korea for first visit in three years

English Premier League powerhouse Manchester City is making its return to South Korea for the first time in three years, set to engage with local fans and football talent. The team, now under the guidance of new head coach Enzo Maresca, is scheduled to arrive at Incheon International Airport on the afternoon of August 4th.

While star players like striker Erling Haaland and Ballon d'Or winner Rodri will be absent due to their participation in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, the squad will still feature a strong contingent. Notable players expected to join include Ederson, Josko Gvardiol, Mateo Kovacic, Phil Foden, and Antoine Semenyo.

Manchester City plans to spend approximately a week in Seoul, participating in two exhibition matches. Their first fixture, on August 5th, will pit them against a select Team K League, representing the pinnacle of South Korean professional football. This will be followed by a match against Spanish giants Atletico Madrid on August 9th. Both games are slated to kick off at 8 PM at the Seoul World Cup Stadium.

The Team K League, composed of top players from South Korea's professional league such as Ki Sung-yueng, Lee Seung-woo, Lee Dong-gyeong, and Lee Ki-hyuk, will be aiming to showcase Korean football's pride against the formidable English champions. The matches are anticipated to draw significant attention from football enthusiasts in the region.
