Man Dies After Falling From Recycling Truck During Sudden Braking in Suncheon

A tragic accident in Suncheon has claimed the life of a 60-year-old man who was ejected from a recycling collection truck and crushed by its cab. The incident occurred around 7:11 AM when the truck's driver made a sudden stop at an intersection in Pungdeok-dong.

The victim, identified as a Chinese national, was reportedly sitting in the passenger seat when the abrupt braking caused him to fall out of the vehicle. In the ensuing moments, the driver's cabin tilted forward, pinning him underneath. He was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries.

Authorities have stated that the truck was being driven by a 70-year-old colleague at the time of the incident. Preliminary investigations suggest that a failure in the cab-tilting safety device may have caused the cabin to open unexpectedly during the emergency stop, leading to the fatal accident. Police are continuing to investigate the precise cause of the malfunction and the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
