Man Dies After Falling into Gapyeong River; Another Injured in Yangju Water Play Area

A man in his 60s has died after falling into a river while engaging in recreational activities in Gapyeong, Gyeonggi Province. The incident occurred around 12:35 p.m. on July 26, when the man was reportedly drinking with acquaintances near a bridge in the Buk-myeon area.

According to reports, the man fell into the river and was carried downstream for approximately 2 meters. Bystanders managed to rescue him, but he was found in cardiac arrest. Emergency services performed CPR at the scene and transported him to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries later that day.

In a separate incident on the same day, a man in his 40s was discovered unresponsive in an inflatable water play area at a resort in Jangheung, Yangju. He was found in cardiac arrest at approximately 9:36 a.m. but regained spontaneous circulation during emergency treatment. He was subsequently taken to the hospital and is currently receiving treatment for severe injuries.

Authorities are investigating the exact circumstances surrounding both incidents, interviewing witnesses and individuals who were present at the time of the accidents. The police and fire departments are working to determine the sequence of events leading to these tragic occurrences.
