Man Dies in Inwood Stabbing Hours After Dominican Day Parade; Police Investigate Shootings

A 23-year-old man died from stab wounds sustained during a street fight in Inwood, Manhattan, just hours after the annual Dominican Day Parade concluded. The New York Police Department (NYPD) is investigating the fatal stabbing and two other shootings that occurred in the same neighborhood early Monday morning.

The stabbing took place shortly after midnight near Nagle Avenue, according to ABC 7. Police reported that two 23-year-old men were injured in the altercation. One victim suffered a stab wound to the abdomen and was pronounced dead at Harlem Hospital. The second man sustained a stab wound to the chest and was taken to NewYork-Presbyterian Allen Hospital in stable condition.

Authorities reported that the stabbing incident occurred about an hour after a separate shooting near Sherman Avenue and Isham Street. In that incident, a 30-year-old man was shot in the wrist and transported to NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center, where he was expected to survive. Four masked individuals reportedly fled the scene westward on Isham Street.

Later, around 1:12 a.m., a 19-year-old man was shot in the leg near Dyckman Street and Nagle Avenue. This victim arrived at Jacobi Medical Center via taxi and was reported in stable condition. The NYPD is investigating both shootings as separate incidents and has made no arrests in connection with any of the three events. The incidents occurred in the same area where thousands had gathered on Sunday for the Dominican Day Parade, celebrating the culture and traditions of the Dominican Republic.
