Man Held Captive, Beaten for Hours in Stein Apartment; Suspect Arrested

A 37-year-old man endured hours of captivity and assault after being lured into a neighbor's apartment in Stein, Bavaria, by a 36-year-old suspect. The incident began after a dispute within the suspect's household, leading him to allegedly knock on random doors. The victim opened his door and was subsequently tricked into entering the suspect's apartment under a false pretense, according to police.

Inside, the suspect falsely accused the 37-year-old of having an affair with his wife. He then allegedly locked the victim inside, threatened him, and proceeded to beat him. After several hours, the victim managed to escape, sustaining significant bruising and requiring hospitalization. Police could not immediately clarify the exact method of his escape.

Authorities ordered a search of the suspect's apartment. When a special police unit (SEK) arrived, the suspect had already fled. A manhunt ensued, but he was not immediately found. He reappeared at his apartment approximately three hours later, where plainclothes officers apprehended him. Police took a blood sample and filed a motion for his arrest. Authorities cited suspected drug use and psychological issues as potential background factors for the crime.
