Man shoots estranged wife at bus stop in Turkey; suspect had restraining order

A woman was shot multiple times at a bus stop in Paşabağı Mahallesi, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Boulevard, in an incident of domestic violence. The victim, identified as 60-year-old Emine Dişçi, was reportedly confronted by her estranged husband, 67-year-old Ahmet Dişçi, at the bus stop.

An argument ensued between the couple for reasons yet unknown. During the altercation, Ahmet Dişçi allegedly drew a handgun and fired several shots at Emine Dişçi. The gunshots caused alarm among bystanders, and Emine Dişçi collapsed, severely wounded.

Bystanders intervened to calm Ahmet Dişçi, who remained at the scene with the handgun, awaiting police arrival. Emine Dişçi was rushed to a hospital by private vehicle. She is currently receiving treatment in the emergency room, and her condition remains critical.

Police arrived at the scene following the report and took Ahmet Dişçi into custody. It was learned that a restraining order had previously been issued against Ahmet Dişçi due to complaints filed by Emine Dişçi. The suspect was taken for a health check and then to the police station for questioning. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
