Man threatened firefighters extinguishing yard fire in Greece

Firefighters in Achaia, Greece, faced an unusual and threatening situation on Tuesday afternoon when a man allegedly verbally assaulted and threatened them while they worked to extinguish a fire in his yard. The incident prompted the intervention of the local police.

Officers from the Sub-Directorate for the Investigation of Crimes in Aigialeia arrested the man following the verbal altercation. According to reports, the man directed threats at the emergency responders as they carried out their duties.

During the subsequent search of the man's property, authorities discovered and seized a modified blank-firing pistol along with a magazine. Additionally, thirty 9mm blank cartridges, five 9mm cartridges, and one 9mm blank round were found in the yard of his residence.

The man's actions have led to his arrest, with authorities investigating the circumstances surrounding the threats and the possession of the firearm components. The incident highlights the challenges emergency responders can face while on duty.
