Man with ammunition arrested near Trump golf course

Authorities arrested a man carrying ammunition near a Los Angeles golf course frequented by President Donald Trump. The arrest occurred on Sunday, just before Trump was scheduled to visit the club for a charity dinner.

Law enforcement officials stated the 38-year-old suspect was seen walking around the golf course, appearing to map out security measures. He was observed taking pictures and videos of the premises. During his apprehension, officers found a magazine with 16 rounds of ammunition in his pocket.

Following the arrest, police searched the man's vehicle, discovering a loaded handgun with a round in the chamber and another full magazine of ammunition. A subsequent search of his residence revealed multiple firearms, magazines, ammunition, body armor, and notebooks containing what police described as "concerning statements."

The suspect faces charges for carrying a concealed weapon and possessing prohibited ammunition. The Los Angeles County District Attorney's office will decide whether to file formal charges after reviewing the case file. This incident occurs amidst ongoing security concerns surrounding Donald Trump's campaign events.
