Man with Suspected Explosive Enters New Taipei City Speaker's Office; Scene Secured

Police have cordoned off a scene in Xinzhuang District after a man entered the service office of New Taipei City Speaker Chiang Ken-huang carrying a suspicious package. The incident occurred around 11 a.m. today when a man, identified as 53-year-old Mr. Wu, attempted to enter the office with a black handbag containing an unknown object.

Security personnel at the office intercepted the man at the entrance before he could proceed further. Responding police officers arrived promptly, secured the individual, and took him into custody. Due to the potential danger posed by the package, bomb squad technicians were dispatched to the scene to assess its contents and determine if it contains explosive materials.

As a precautionary measure, Speaker Chiang Ken-huang was advised to leave his service office and move to a secure location. Police are currently investigating the man's motives and the nature of the item he was carrying. They are examining whether the act constitutes intimidation or other illegal activities. The Xinzhuang Precinct has urged the public to use legal and rational channels for expressing grievances, warning against the use of dangerous items or violence.
