Manchester United collapse in stoppage time after stunning Everton strike

Manchester United had victory within reach twice at Everton, but a stunning stoppage-time strike left the visitors staring at a 2-2 draw.

United took the lead early in the second half when Bryan Mbeumo cut in from the right and placed a precise shot into the far corner. Everton equalized in the 83rd minute, with Tyrique George catching goalkeeper Senne Lammens out with a fierce effort into the near top corner.

Manchester United responded again in the 88th minute. Benjamin Sesko, left completely unmarked, headed the visitors back in front. It still was not enough for three points. In the sixth minute of added time, Ainsley Maitland-Niles struck a superb first-time shot to send the home crowd into celebration.

The match also brought an early scare for United. Defender Harry Maguire collided headfirst with Everton's Thierno Barry and suffered a cut to his nose. The bleeding stopped, and Maguire continued playing. United now have four points from three matches, while Everton's unbeaten start stands at one win and two draws.
