Mansour Abbas' Ra'am party to hold first ever primary election for Knesset candidates

Ra'am, the Arab Israeli party headed by MK Mansour Abbas, announced it will hold its first-ever primary elections for Knesset candidates on August 22, marking a significant organizational step for the party.

According to a party statement, the upcoming conference is part of completing its organizational preparations and fulfilling constitutional requirements. Ra'am views this milestone as crucial for strengthening its institutions, expanding its membership base, and deepening its public engagement across various sectors of Arab society in Israel.

The party highlighted the importance of this move in the context of what it describes as "the unprecedented racist policies and practices of the Netanyahu-Ben-Gvir-Smotrich government." Ra'am explicitly stated its goal to bring down the current government and form a new one in which it would play an active role in addressing the challenges confronting Arab society.
