Marco Rubio Accuses Cuba of Funding Radical Protests in U.S.; Says 'Nothing Spontaneous About This'

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio asserted that Cuba is actively involved in financing and organizing what he termed "radical" protests occurring within the United States in recent years. Rubio stated in a Fox News interview that these demonstrations are not spontaneous but rather orchestrated, with Cuba playing a significant role in this network.

There is nothing spontaneous about this. It is financed. It is organized. And Cuba is part of that network, and in some cases a crucial part of that network.

Rubio described the network as a tool used against the U.S., noting that its operators openly discuss leveraging it to influence American legislators. He pointed to alleged Cuban involvement in the disturbances witnessed in 2020 and a subsequent rise in "radical activity," suggesting a coordinated effort rather than organic public dissent.

He further elaborated on his claims by linking individuals seen during the 2020 protests to later pro-Hamas demonstrations. Rubio also mentioned the rapid organization of protests demanding the release of Maduro shortly after his arrest, implying a pre-established network capable of mobilizing quickly for various causes.

Rubio, whose parents were Cuban immigrants, characterized Cuba as a "superpower" in espionage and influence operations.
