Mass Fish Deaths in Edirne: Investigation Launched

The Edirne Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry has launched an investigation into a significant number of dead fish found in the Korucu Pond.

Technical teams from the Fisheries and Aquaculture Branch Directorate conducted on-site assessments, measuring water temperature, dissolved oxygen, pH, and other key quality parameters at various points within the pond. Despite these measurements, the directorate stated that no adverse findings directly explaining the fish deaths were identified.

The fish deaths were found to be concentrated in the shallow sections of the pond where the water level was low.
