Mayday's Masa joins Accusefive for surprise 'Kao Wu Ren' supergroup

A thrilling collaboration electrified the JAM JAM ASIA music festival as Mayday's bassist, Masa, joined the popular Taiwanese band Accusefive on stage. The unexpected pairing formed a temporary supergroup dubbed 'Kao Wu Ren,' sending waves of excitement through the audience and marking a high point of the festival's opening day.

Masa, who also served as a curator for the event, playfully described his involvement as a "fiddly hand" impulse, admitting his strong desire to perform alongside Accusefive. Vocalist Kuan-Ting of Accusefive expressed delight, noting it was their band's first performance with Masa. The chemistry between the musicians was evident as they seamlessly blended their distinct styles.

During their performance, 'Kao Wu Ren' delivered a unique rendition that ingeniously merged Mayday's hit song 'Starry Sky' with Accusefive's popular track 'Missing You While Chasing the Stars.' Accusefive shared that preparing for this special collaboration involved over three weeks of discussions regarding the setlist and arrangements. Guitarist Yun-An highlighted the distinctiveness of Masa's bass playing compared to their usual collaborators, noting significant attention to detail in capturing his unique style, personality, and sound. The successful union of these artists underscored the vibrant and collaborative spirit of Taiwan's contemporary music scene.
