Mazatlán Expects 1.44 Million Visitors This Summer; Hotels Report High Occupancy

Mazatlán anticipates a bustling summer season, with projections estimating 1.44 million visitors. This influx has resulted in high occupancy rates across the city's hotels, signaling a strong economic boost for the region. The surge in tourism is directly benefiting various local businesses, including traditional and rental transportation services, restaurants, retail shops, and the hotel industry. State Tourism Secretary Mireya Sosa Osuna emphasized that Mazatlán's unique blend of natural resources, cultural richness, and contemporary appeal distinguishes it as a premier destination in Mexico. Popular attractions driving visitor numbers include the Acuario Mazatlán Mar de Cortés, the El Faro lighthouse with its glass viewpoint, the Observatorio 1873, the historic city center, and the coastline. Sosa Osuna further noted that the quality of Mazatlán's beaches, its renowned seafood cuisine, and the warmth of its people solidify its position as one of Mexico's most vibrant and competitive tourist hubs.
