Mazda Updates Flagship CX-5 SUV with Roomier Cabin and Modern Features

PT Eurokars Motor Indonesia has unveiled the all-new Mazda CX-5 at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2026 in Tangerang. This marks a comprehensive update for one of Mazda's best-selling global models, which has been on the market for 15 years and sold over five million units worldwide.

Mazda's development approach for the new CX-5, termed "Succession and Evolution," focuses on refining the model's established identity while enhancing its design, comfort, technology, and driving experience. Ricky Thio, Chief Operating Officer of PT Eurokars Motor Indonesia, emphasized that the company aimed to perfect the aspects customers value most, rather than creating a completely different vehicle.

The exterior of the All-New Mazda CX-5 retains the KODO design language but now features larger dimensions, a new front fascia, modern headlights, and a more assertive rear. Inside, the horizontal dashboard design creates a sense of spaciousness, with increased headroom, rear legroom, and larger trunk capacity. Technological advancements include a 12.9-inch touchscreen, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, an Active Driving Display, capacitive steering switches, and a premium Bose audio system with 12 speakers.

Under the hood, the CX-5 is powered by the 2.5-liter SKYACTIV-G engine, producing 179 PS and 240 Nm of torque. Mazda has fine-tuned the acceleration, maneuverability, ride comfort, and cabin noise levels for a smoother, more precise driving experience. Safety is bolstered by the i-Activsense suite, including Blind Spot Monitoring and Mazda Radar Cruise Control, building on the CX-5's strong safety record with previous five-star Euro NCAP ratings and nine consecutive IIHS Top Safety Pick+ awards.

In Indonesia, the All-New Mazda CX-5 is offered in two variants: the Sport Edition priced at Rp 599 million and the Kuro Edition at Rp 689.9 million (on the road Jakarta). Deliveries to dealerships will commence gradually post-GIIAS 2026. Additionally, Mazda is expanding its partnership with Japanese performance parts brand AutoExe, a collaboration that began in 2024.
