MBSB Bank Visa Debit-i Card Now Available on Samsung Wallet, Google Pay

MBSB Bank Berhad is enhancing its digital banking services by integrating its Visa Debit-i card with Samsung Wallet and Google Pay. This move allows customers to make fast, secure, and practical contactless payments worldwide using their mobile devices.

By adding the MBSB Bank Visa Debit-i card to Samsung Wallet or Google Pay, customers can pay at any Visa-accepting terminal without carrying their physical card. Transactions are secured by the user's device security features, and tokenization technology replaces actual card information with a unique digital identifier, bolstering payment security.

Usman Ghouse, Group Chief Consumer Banking Officer at MBSB Bank, stated that evolving consumer payment habits necessitate offering convenient, fast, and secure digital payment options. "The way consumers pay is changing rapidly. Therefore, banks need to provide a variety of payment options that are easy and secure and can be used via customers' daily devices," he said. He added that making the card available on these platforms offers greater convenience for customers' daily transactions.

The integration complements MBSB Bank's growing digital banking ecosystem, including the M Journey app, which offers services like Global Easy Transfer powered by Wise and the PrimeGold-i digital gold investment platform. The bank also plans to introduce Apple Pay in the near future. To encourage adoption, MBSB Bank launched the "Tap Smart. Win Big" campaign, offering rewards for adding the card to Samsung Wallet and making eligible contactless transactions.
