Mechanical Ride Fails in Chalco, Trapping Seven; No Injuries Reported

A mechanical amusement ride broke down in Chalco, Mexico, leaving seven people stranded on Sunday afternoon. The incident occurred on Vicente Guerrero street in the Casco de San Juan neighborhood, near the federal highway 115 Mexico-Cuautla, where the patronal festival attractions were set up.

Firefighters from Chalco responded to the scene and ascended the ride's structure to free the trapped individuals. The affected passengers only suffered nervous distress and no physical injuries, according to the Chalco government. The regional chief of Civil Protection of the State of Mexico, Amecameca Region, Cristina Juárez Hernández, confirmed the report.

Elements of Chalco Public Security and Civil Protection also participated in the rescue operation. The local government stated that after the seven people were safely brought down, Civil Protection personnel and company technicians began inspecting the ride. It will not resume operation until it is deemed safe to prevent any risk to users.

Other mechanical rides at the festival remain operational on the final night of the Chalco patronal celebrations, which attract thousands of visitors from the region.
