Media: Simonas Lukošius to join forces with former Žalgiris player in Spain

Lithuanian basketball player Simonas Lukošius is reportedly on the verge of joining Spanish club Unicaja Malaga. The 23-year-old forward would reunite with Ignas Brazdeikis, who joined the Malaga team in mid-July.

Unicaja Malaga is set to compete in the FIBA Champions League next season, facing Utenos "Juventus" in the group stage. Earlier in June, it was announced that Lukošius had signed a three-year contract with the "Dubai" club. In early July, the basketball player officially debuted for the German national team.

Lukošius had a standout season in Vilnius. The player, who holds both German and Lithuanian citizenship, became one of Rytas' most crucial players last season. In the final against AEK Athens, he scored 23 points and made an impressive 7 out of 10 three-pointers. During the FIBA Champions League, Lukošius averaged 8.3 points, 3 rebounds, and achieved an efficiency rating of 8-9 points per game, with a remarkable 51.6% accuracy from beyond the arc.

In the Lithuanian Basketball League (LKL), the forward averaged 6.6 points, 2.4 rebounds, and an efficiency rating of 5.9 per game.
