Median poll puts Gibran at 2%, while KDM reaches 19.8%

Prabowo Subianto remains the strongest name in Median’s latest survey of potential Indonesian presidential candidates, while his vice president, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, received only 2% in the open-ended question.

Dedi Mulyadi ranked second with 19.8%, narrowly ahead of Anies Baswedan at 19.5%. Ganjar Pranowo followed with 4.5%, while Sherly Tjoanda received 3.5%. Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono and Joko Widodo each recorded 2.3% and 2%, respectively. Gibran also stood at 2%, followed by Mahfud MD at 1.8% and Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa at 1.3%.

In the open-ended question, Prabowo Subianto received 32.2%, followed by Dedi Mulyadi at 19.8% and Anies Baswedan at 19.5%.

The results were similar when respondents chose from a list of names. Prabowo’s support rose slightly to 32.4%, with Dedi at 20.6% and Anies at 20.5%. Ganjar recorded 5%, and Sherly reached 4.1%. Gibran’s figure increased to 2.6%, ahead of Mahfud at 2.1% and Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono at 2%. Andika Perkasa received 1.5%, while Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, also known as Ahok, received 1.2%.

Median executive director Rico Marbun said the survey reflected political dynamics during the fieldwork period. The face-to-face survey covered 1,212 Indonesian citizens eligible to vote and used multistage random sampling, with provincial population and gender guiding the sample distribution. Median reported a 95% confidence level and a margin of error of plus or minus 2.76 percentage points.
