Medvedev: War in Ukraine reaches decisive stage

Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has declared that Russia is at a critical juncture in its invasion of Ukraine, urging new recruits to play a role in achieving victory. Addressing young soldiers before their deployment, Medvedev framed participation in the conflict as a demonstration of true love for the homeland.

While acknowledging the inherent risks and difficult decisions involved in joining the war effort, Medvedev stressed the importance of securing a Russian victory. "We need victory, but not at any cost," he stated, adding a personal plea for the soldiers to protect themselves.

His remarks come as Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk suggested that the upcoming 100 days could be pivotal in determining the war's conclusion. Tusk assessed the current chances of victory for both Ukraine and Russia as a 50-50 proposition. He also pointed to the potential influence of U.S. President Donald Trump, along with other unspecified individuals and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, in shaping the war's trajectory.
