Mendonça asks Fachin for STF session to examine messages between Vorcaro and Moraes cited by federal police

André Mendonça wants the full Supreme Federal Court to confront the messages linking Alexandre de Moraes to Daniel Vorcaro, the former banker who owned Banco Master. He asked STF President Edson Fachin to schedule an in-person plenary session.

Mendonça described the plenary as “the inevitable path” and “the sovereign forum to analyze, in a technical and strictly legal manner” the evidence gathered by the Federal Police. Fachin will decide when the session takes place.

The messages, revealed by O Estado de S. Paulo and also obtained by Folha, show Vorcaro asking Moraes about meetings shortly before his arrest. On Nov. 14, he asked whether they were still scheduled to meet at Moraes’ home the next day or whether they should postpone. Minutes later, he confirmed: “I’ll arrive at 2:30 p.m., okay? At your home, confirmed.”

On the night of Nov. 15, two days before his arrest, Vorcaro sought another meeting and said it “could be very quick.” He then asked: “At 2 then. Should I come to your place or mine?” That same day, he reportedly asked Moraes, “Do you think I already need to be out of the country on Monday?”

The following day, Nov. 16, Vorcaro wrote: “I’m already on a flight, I’ll land at 2:20 p.m. and go straight there, okay?” Federal police arrested him on Nov. 17 as he prepared to board a private jet bound for Malta. The documents also show that he sought meetings with Moraes to discuss the business dealings that had placed him under investigation.
