Merchants Blockade Continues for Fourth Day Over Reorganization Guidelines

A group of merchants has maintained a blockade on Alameda Central for four consecutive days, protesting new reorganization guidelines they disagree with. The demonstration has significantly disrupted traffic on Eje Central and Avenida Juárez, with vendors setting up stalls with food carts, tables, and merchandise along the street.

Security forces from the Secretariat of Citizen Security have cordoned off the area to prevent pedestrian access. The protest has led to stranded cargo trucks and buses on Eje Central, and has also affected the operation of Metro Line 1 of the Trolebús and the Centrobús.

While some businesses have set up inside the park, the majority of vendors are operating from the vehicular lanes. Feminist collectives have also set up on Calle de Ángela and the sidewalk of Avenida Juárez. Security operations by the Secretariats of Citizen Protection and Local Government are ongoing at the entrances to Alameda Central.
