Merz, cabinet ministers attend Bayreuth Festival's 150th anniversary

Merz had been occupied with personnel changes within his party and cabinet in the preceding days. In Bayreuth, he reconnected with key political figures, including Nina Warken, the former Federal Minister of Health and soon-to-be Head of the Chancellery, and Philipp Amthor, who is set to become the federal-state coordinator in the Chancellery. Other federal cabinet members in attendance included Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt and Research Minister Dorothee Bär, both from the CSU party. Wolfram Weimer, the Minister of State for Culture, welcomed the distinguished guests on the red carpet, exclaiming, "Welcome to the anniversary!" The festival commemorates 150 years since the inaugural Bayreuth Festival, initiated by Richard Wagner. The anniversary was marked, among other events, by a performance of Beethoven's 9th Symphony.
