Meteorology announces July 25, 2026 weather report: How will the weather be today?

Turkey's General Directorate of Meteorology (MGM) has issued a detailed weather report for July 25, 2026, predicting widespread rain and thunderstorms across the country's northern, central, and western areas. The forecast indicates fragmented and cloudy skies in these regions, with precipitation expected in eastern Marmara, the Aegean, Mediterranean, Central Anatolia, Western and Central Black Sea, coastal Eastern Black Sea, and the Gaziantep, Kilis, and Malatya vicinities.

Significant rainfall is anticipated in several specific locations. Heavy downpours are forecast for eastern Marmara, inland parts of the Eastern Mediterranean, western Central Anatolia, northern Eskişehir, Konya, Kırşehir, Yozgat, Malatya, Giresun, southern and eastern Kayseri, inland Antalya, eastern Isparta, Çankırı, Karabük, southern Bolu, and coastal Hatay. Furthermore, very heavy and severe rainfall is expected along the Western Black Sea coast, in Central Anatolia, northern Kocaeli, Sakarya, northern Bolu, and western Ordu.

Authorities have issued strong warnings for these areas, cautioning residents about potential flash floods, lightning, localized hail, sudden strong winds, and short-term storms. These conditions could lead to disruptions in transportation. Additionally, strong winds from the north are expected along the Marmara and Aegean coasts, with speeds ranging from 50-70 km/h, prompting further warnings for potential adverse effects.

In contrast to the expected rainfall, light dust transport is forecast for the Southeastern Anatolia region starting in the afternoon. Air temperatures, currently around seasonal norms, are predicted to decrease noticeably starting July 26, falling below seasonal averages in the northern and western parts of the country. Winds will generally be from the north, shifting to southerly in the southeast and eastern parts over time, with moderate speeds expected.
