Meteorology issues critical warning: Cool air from Balkans to cause temperatures to drop by 10 degrees!

Turkey is bracing for a substantial temperature decrease as cooler air arrives from the Balkans, according to the General Directorate of Meteorology. Meteorologist Serdar Yıldırım stated that temperatures, currently around seasonal norms, will begin to fall in the northwestern parts of the country starting Thursday and Friday.

Temperatures are expected to decrease by 8 to 10 degrees, falling to 26 degrees in Istanbul, 24 degrees in Ankara, and 28 degrees in Izmir.

This incoming cool air mass is expected to lower temperatures by 8 to 10 degrees Celsius. Cities like Istanbul, which have been experiencing highs of 34-36 degrees, could see temperatures drop to around 26 degrees. Ankara's temperatures might fall from 32-34 degrees to approximately 24 degrees, while İzmir could see a drop from 38 degrees to about 28 degrees.

Despite the overall cooling trend, specific weather advisories are in place. On Tuesday and Wednesday, heavy rainfall is anticipated in the Edirne, Kırklareli, and Tekirdağ regions of Thrace, prompting a call for caution. Additionally, for Tuesday and Wednesday, warnings are issued for high temperatures between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. across Istanbul, Ankara, and İzmir. During these hours, vulnerable groups, including children, the elderly, and those with chronic illnesses, are advised to stay indoors or take necessary precautions if they must go out.
