Methodist Church Steps Up Major Investments in Commercial Projects

The Methodist Church in Fiji is undertaking significant commercial investments to bolster its financial sustainability, according to its President, Reverend Dr. Semisi Turagavou. The church has already launched its first venture into the fuel retail industry with a $3.6 million service station at Davuilevu, operating under the newly established Lakoyani Limited.

We opened the first MCIF service station at Davuilevu. That investment was roughly $3.6 million, and the church’s first venture into the fuel retail industry now carried forward under the new established Lakoyani Limited.

Further demonstrating its commitment to commercial development, the church is nearing the completion of its largest project to date: a 10-story complex situated next to the Reverend John Hunt Building on Stewart Street in Suva. This major development is slated for completion in October.

As the Stewart Street construction continues on our largest commercial investment to date, a 10-story complex beside the Reverend John Hunt Building is targeted for completion around October this year.

The church's business arm, Lakoyani Management, is also progressing with plans for a new conference center. The church leadership hopes to host its 2027 conference in this new facility, signaling a long-term vision for growth and self-sufficiency.

Furthermore, planning and paperwork for the construction of the MCIF Conference Center is progressing well through the Lakoyani Management team. We hope and pray that the conference of 2027 will be held in a new conference center.
