Mexicable Line 3 in Naucalpan Nears Completion, Exceeds 75% Progress

The construction of Mexicable Line 3 in Naucalpan is progressing rapidly, with over 75 percent of the project now complete. Municipal government officials have announced that the civil engineering phase is slated for completion within this year, paving the way for the system to commence operations in the early months of 2027.

This new aerial cable car system will comprise 11 stations and cover a route of more than 9.5 kilometers. The line will extend from the Mexipuerto Cuatro Caminos transportation hub to Lomas del Cadete. Upon its completion, the entire journey is expected to take approximately 27 minutes, a substantial improvement compared to the current travel time, which can reach up to an hour to reach Metro Cuatro Caminos.

The project involves the installation of 62 support poles, with more than half already erected, and 278 cabins, each designed to accommodate 10 passengers. The Mexicable Line 3 is projected to serve over 60 communities, with an estimated daily ridership of around 40,000 people. It is particularly designed to connect the higher-elevation areas of Naucalpan with the established Metro Cuatro Caminos system, improving accessibility and mobility for residents.

Details about the cabins reveal they will be equipped with amenities such as seats, LED lighting, video surveillance, Wi-Fi connectivity, and an audio system. The expansion of the project to include 11 stations, adding one at Alce Blanco, aims to enhance service coverage. The overall length of the system, exceeding 9.5 kilometers, is expected to benefit close to 700,000 inhabitants in the region.
