Mexico City Arrests Individual with 217 kg of Cocaine Hidden in Vehicle

A significant drug bust occurred in Tlalpan, Mexico City, where authorities apprehended an individual carrying a substantial quantity of cocaine. The operation, conducted by the Secretariat of Citizen Security and Protection (SSPC) and the Secretariat of Citizen Security of Mexico City (SSC-CDMX), resulted in the seizure of 217 kilograms of the illicit substance.

The cocaine was found concealed within a specially designed compartment in a vehicle, indicating a sophisticated method of transport. Omar García Harfuch, the Secretary of Citizen Security and Protection, announced the arrest via social media, highlighting the ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking in the capital.

"The investigation will continue to define the routes of transit as well as the final destination," García Harfuch stated. This seizure is part of broader surveillance and enforcement actions aimed at disrupting drug trafficking networks operating within Mexico City and beyond.
