Mexico City's 'Mi Beca para Empezar' Program Details 2026 School Aid

Mexico City's "Mi Beca para Empezar" program is set to disburse its annual support for school uniforms and supplies for the upcoming 2026-2027 academic cycle. This financial aid is a key benefit for students enrolled in public basic education institutions across the capital.

For the new school year, the support will be exclusively directed towards students in preschool, secondary school, and specialized vocational training programs (CAM secundaria and CAM laboral). This means that primary school students will not receive this particular payment, as they will benefit from a separate "Beca Rita Cetina" which offers special aid for school supplies.

Preschool students are set to receive 980 pesos, while secondary school students will be allocated 1,180 pesos. To be eligible for this aid, students must either already possess a card from the "Mi Beca para Empezar" program or have completed their registration before the June 30 deadline.

For students entering the first year of secondary school who registered by the deadline, new cards will be distributed throughout August. Parents and guardians can check the specific dates, times, and locations for card collection on the Fideicomiso Educación Garantizada (Fidegar) website by entering the beneficiary's CURP (Unique Population Registry Code).
