Mexico City Shooting in Historic Center Leaves One Dead, Two Injured

A direct shooting attack in Mexico City's Historic Center on Monday afternoon resulted in one fatality and two injuries. Police were called to the intersection of Belisario Domínguez and República de Brasil streets in the Centro neighborhood, where they discovered three men with gunshot wounds.

Emergency services pronounced a 42-year-old man dead at the scene. Two other men, both 39 years old, were stabilized and transported to a hospital for specialized medical attention. The incident caused a significant police mobilization in the area.

Following the attack, the area was cordoned off by the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) to preserve evidence and allow forensic experts and the Attorney General's Office of Mexico City to conduct their investigation. Authorities have initiated a virtual cordon, reviewing surveillance camera footage to identify the occupants of a motorcycle believed to be responsible for the shooting. The suspects fled the scene immediately after the incident.

As of now, no arrests have been made. Investigations are ongoing to determine the motive behind the aggression and to apprehend those responsible for the shooting.
