Mexico continues operations to arrest Sinaloa Cartel leader Guzmán Salazar

Mexican security forces are intensifying operations to apprehend Iván Archivaldo Guzmán Salazar, a prominent leader within the Sinaloa Cartel's "Los Chapitos" faction. The ongoing efforts aim to dismantle the cartel's operations and weaken its influence across the region.

During a press conference in Toluca, Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection Omar García Harfuch reported significant progress. He highlighted the recent neutralization of a high-priority target known as "El Texas," who was identified as a key figure responsible for generating violence in Culiacán and a crucial associate of Guzmán Salazar and "Los Chapitos."

"Not only has that happened. Every week, operations by all institutions of the Security Cabinet continue to further weaken not only this organization but also the other faction of the Sinaloa Cartel," García Harfuch stated. These continuous operations underscore the government's commitment to combating organized crime.

The broader objective extends beyond targeting "Los Chapitos." Security forces are actively working to weaken other factions within the powerful Sinaloa Cartel, indicating a comprehensive strategy to disrupt the cartel's extensive network and activities.
