Mexico’s federal prosecutors seize 12,900 liters of hydrocarbon mixture in Hidalgo and arrest four

Mexico’s Attorney General’s Office seized 12,900 liters of a hydrocarbon mixture and arrested four people during simultaneous searches in two properties in La Victoria, Metepec, Hidalgo.

The investigation began after an anonymous tip alleged that the properties were being used to store and sell fuel illegally. Prosecutors opened a case and requested search warrants, which a judge later authorized.

Federal investigators found 117 containers of different capacities, as well as three pumps connected to three hoses. Authorities also seized three vehicles and five mobile phones during the operation.

The National Guard and the Defense Secretariat provided security around the properties. The four detainees, along with the seized fuel and other material, were placed at the disposal of the relevant authorities as prosecutors continue investigating and determine their legal status.

Metepec lies in the Tulancingo region, where crimes involving the theft and illegal sale of hydrocarbons have been reported.
