Mexico's Ixtapaluca-Valle de Chalco Trolleybus to Cost $2.5 Billion, Connect with Mexiquense Line 11

Mexico's federal and state governments are collaborating on a significant infrastructure project to improve mobility in the eastern State of Mexico. The new trolleybus route will span 10.1 kilometers, connecting Ixtapaluca and Valle de Chalco, with an estimated cost of 2.5 billion pesos.

This initiative is part of the "Plan Oriente," a broader strategy to enhance transportation in the region. The trolleybus line will include 12 stations and a dedicated lane, seamlessly linking with Line 11 of the Mexiquense Trolleybus at the Puente Blanco station. This connection is expected to offer expanded travel options for the more than one million residents who commute daily between Ixtapaluca, Valle de Chalco, and other eastern municipalities.

The "Plan Oriente" also encompasses the expansion of Line 3 of the Mexibús in Nezahualcóyotl, adding six new stations and 31 articulated buses. These developments underscore a commitment to modernizing public transportation and reducing commute times for a large segment of the state's population.
