Michael B. Jordan Directs and Stars in New 'Thomas Crown Affair' Adaptation

Michael B. Jordan is stepping back into the director's chair and taking the lead role in a new adaptation of "The Thomas Crown Affair." This marks his latest directorial effort since "Creed III."

Jordan will portray Thomas Crown, a billionaire known for his sophisticated heists. This iteration aims to offer a more personal and emotionally resonant take on the character, moving away from the original's premise of wealthy white men stealing for thrills. Jordan stated in a previous interview that he wanted to reimagine the story for a contemporary audience, emphasizing higher stakes while retaining the stylish and romantic elements.

The film also features exterior: Andrea Riseborough as a former FBI agent who clashes with Crown during his heists, and Kenneth Branagh as a mysterious antagonist plotting Crown's downfall. However, Crown's true objective is to return stolen or illegally sold artifacts to their rightful creators or owners.

This is the third cinematic adaptation of the story. The original 1968 film was directed by Norman Jewison, and the 1999 remake was helmed by John McTiernan. The new "The Thomas Crown Affair" is scheduled to premiere in Taiwan in March 2027.
