Mikutavičius says he is alarmed that Lithuanians love their government

“Every Lithuanian should dislike the government,” singer Marijonas Mikutavičius says, describing himself as alarmed by people who become devoted to politicians.

He is particularly struck by those who defend political figures with the loyalty usually reserved for a favorite sports team. Mikutavičius says he cannot understand that kind of attachment.

The singer adds that he trusts only his mother and his wife. If he had a magic wand, he says, he would use it first to address security and education problems in Lithuania.
