Milagros Ortiz Bosch celebrates 90th birthday

Dominican politician Milagros Ortiz Bosch celebrated her 90th birthday, marking the milestone with a heartfelt video shared on Instagram. The audiovisual presentation captured various stages of her life, set to Mercedes Sosa's song "Honrar la Vida" and accompanied by a message of gratitude.

She expressed that everything she has lived has brought her to this point and, looking back, she can only give thanks. Looking forward, she stated her intention to continue living, loving, contributing, and serving with the same enthusiasm.

Ortiz Bosch, who became the Dominican Republic's first female vice president in 2000, also thanked everyone for their warm wishes and expressions of affection. "Thank you for every message, for every hug, for the affection and for making this day an even more special memory. At 90, I continue to celebrate life and all that is yet to come. Thank you for celebrating with me!" she added.

Everything lived has brought me here and, looking back, I can only give thanks. And looking forward, with the same enthusiasm as always, I want to continue living, loving, contributing and serving.

Her political career began in the 1950s during the anti-Trujillo movement. She later joined the Dominican Revolutionary Party (PRD) and held various positions, including senator for the National District from 1994 to 2002. Currently, she serves as the director of Government Ethics and Integrity.
